The first film is the eight planets. The second is a blue planet and its moon. The names are on the map, not in the films.

For children · ages 6 to 10 · £12 once

One evening with the eight planets.

For a child, with an adult in the room. A parent, a teacher, a grandparent, or anyone looking after them. You do not need to know about space.

Earth. Where we live. It has one moon, and water on the surface.

The Sun is a star, not a planet. Pluto is a dwarf planet, so it is not on this map of eight. The picture is not to scale.

Tap a planet on the map for one fact. The film is not a scale model. The colour cards, the notes, and the evening open after you pay.

Try one choice. The rest of the evening opens after you pay.

The picture goes quiet

The screen you are watching goes quiet. What do you do first?

What you get

  • A map of the eight planets, in order from the Sun. Tap one to read a fact.
  • A planet card, and a template for tonight's sky.
  • Colour copies of the map, eight planet cards, tonight's sky, and the evening note. Print them in colour on A4 or US Letter.
  • A film of the eight planets, a film of a blue planet and its moon, and a film of a ringed planet.
  • A page for the adult with them. About an hour. No specialist knowledge.
  • Use it for a real flight tonight, or on any evening with a story you make up.
  • A watcher card: name, job, and a name for the evening.
  • A short checklist, then six steps.
  • Eight words, in plain language.
  • Three choices. Each one shows why after the child picks.
  • A page for what they saw, what they heard, and one question.
  • A box to draw the sky. An evening-complete note with their name and the date.
  • A file of the colour pages. Print it again for another evening.

Before you buy

Any adult can do this with a child. A parent, a teacher, a grandparent, or someone else who is looking after them. One child, or two sharing the evening. Print a colour card for each child.

It is an evening together. It is not homework, not a mark, and not a ticket to see a launch.

The pretend trip is a different page. Paying here does not open it.
