How we calculate Etsy fees

What the calculator adds
Sale price is the selling price plus postage and gift wrap you charge the buyer.
Transaction fee is 6.5% of that sale price. Etsy does not charge it on US sales tax collected from the buyer.
Payment processing is a percent of the sale price plus a fixed fee. The percent and the fixed fee change with the shop’s bank country.
Listing fee is Etsy’s $0.20 listing, shown in the shop currency, multiplied by quantity sold.
Regulatory operating fee is a percent of the sale price in some countries. Etsy’s regulatory help page lists Canada 0.50%, France 1.14%, Hungary 1.97%, Italy 0.80%, India 0.05%, Spain 0.88%, Türkiye 1.67%, the United Kingdom 0.48%, and Vietnam 1.24%. Other countries default to none. Confirm on your bill.
Offsite Ads is off unless you choose 12% or 15%. It applies only to an attributed order, and it is capped.
Etsy Ads is the amount you type for this sale. It is a cost, not an Etsy percent.
VAT or GST on Etsy’s fees is a toggle. It is not tax advice and it is not VAT on the customer’s order.
Labour is minutes times your hourly rate. Materials, postage you pay, and other costs are subtracted after the fees. What you keep is the sale price minus fees and those costs.
Defaults by country
Last verified 29 September 2026. Processing rates were compared with Etsy’s payment-processing table on that date. This table is a sample. The calculator has the full country list, including United States territories with no published processing rate. A deposit fee is listed for some countries and stays off unless you tick it.
